Catering Service
School dinners are planned and prepared by our caterers, Aspens.
Please visit their website Home – Aspens Services (aspens-services.co.uk) and click on the link below for further information about Aspens.
Lunch Time
Lunchtime is as follows:
- Reception - 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
- Year 1 and 2 - 12.15 p.m. to 1.15 p.m.
A team of midday supervisors look after the children's welfare at lunchtime. In the interest of safety, order and good behaviour, adults and children must work together to show high levels of mutual respect.
Lunch Menu
School meals are prepared in accordance with Food Standards Regulations. Provision is made for vegetarian, halal meat choices and special dietary needs (supported by medical evidence).
We have worked closely with our parents/guardians to provide a choice of hot and cold meals and an in-house pack lunch, therefore, we do not accept packed lunches brought in from home.
If your child requires additional support please ask to speak to our Inclusion Manager if you wish to discuss how we can support your child during lunchtime.
Please note that meals must be selected in advance - by 9.00 p.m. for the coming week. For example, for the week commencing 5th September, your child's meals must be chosen by 9.00 p.m. on Sunday 4th September.
The three-weekly menus are displayed on the kitchen window, in our hall and are available to view via the link below. The menu for the day is displayed internally for pupils to read.
Please click on the Select links below for further guidance, to register, log into your account or order meals for your child.
Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM)
Under the Governments Universal Infant Free School Meals initiative all pupils from Reception to Year 2 are entitled to free school meals as from September 2014.
Please note this is not to be confused with FREE SCHOOL MEALS which is based on a family's financial circumstances and links directly with the Pupil Premium Grant. The Pupil Premium Grant was introduced by the Government in April 2011 to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers. Schools receive additional money which is allocated on the basis of entitlement to Free School Meals or who have been entitled within the last 6 years. The money enables schools to provide specific interventions and provision to support these children and their families, in order that they make the best possible progress in school.
Free School Meals Entitlement (FSM)
Many families may now be entitled to Free School Meals. The website below will help you to establish if you can claim. https://www.gov.uk/apply-free-school-meals.
