Initially, we will make sure the children settle in well and get used to the Year 1 routines. Children will be getting to know each other as they are amongst new peers in their classes. During the autumn term, we will look at two themes, 'All about me' and 'Toys'. Both our themes are broken down into separate topics. Children will cover engaging lessons learning about their bodies in Science and looking at feelings in two of our core books. In art, we will be looking at the work of the artist Vincent Van Gogh. Children will draw self-portraits. There are external workshops planned to provide children with new experiences. At the end of this term we will be holding a nativity performance.
